Airtel is India’s second-largest cellular network with over 375 million subscribers. The telecom giant is one of the only two service providers in the country offering 5G connectivity alongside Jio.
Airtel has now launched a new prepaid plan that comes bundled with a Netflix subscription. The plan will also offer unlimited 5G data to users. It is also the first prepaid plan from Airtel to offer Netflix, as the previous bundles from the company were limited to Disney+Hoststar and Airtel Xtream.
Airtel Rs 1499 Prepaid Plan Launched With Netflix Bundle
Airtel’s new Rs 1499 recharge provides 3GB of 4G data daily, along with unlimited voice calls. The plan is valid for 84 days and comes with unlimited 5G data. The highlight of the plan is its bundled subscription to the Netflix Basic plan.
The validity of the Netflix plan will be 3 months, equivalent to the 84 days validity of the prepaid plan. This Netflix Basic plan can only be logged in at one device at a time, and streams content at 720p. Users will have the flexibility to log in to Netflix on any computer, TV, tablet, or smartphone.
This recharge also offers free access to Airtel Hello Tunes. Here’s a summary of the plan:
Airtel Rs 1499 Prepaid Plan
- Data: 3GB of 4G data daily + Unlimited 5G data
- Voice: Unlimited
- Plan Validity: 84 days
- Subscription: Netflix Basic Plan for 3 months, Free Hello Tunes
The Rs 1499 prepaid plan for Airtel is available on Airtel’s website, the Airtel Thanks app, along with third-party payment apps such as Google Pay, PhonePe, etc.
This New Plan Is Airtel’s Response to Jio
To recall, Jio recently launched two new prepaid plans with a Netflix subscription. The Rs 1099 plan in Jio offers 2GB of daily data along with a Netflix Mobile plan, whereas the Rs 1499 plan offers 3GB data daily and comes with a Netflix Basic subscription. Both plans carry a validity of 84 days.
Hence, the Rs 1499 prepaid plan in Airtel and Jio are exactly the same. Both plans offer 3GB of daily data along with Netflix Basic Plan and carry the same validity of 84 days. Airtel is going head-to-head with Jio for its Netflix bundled plans.
As of now, Airtel and Jio are the only two cellular operators to offer Netflix bundles on prepaid recharges. Earlier, Netflix was only available on postpaid plans.
