Vi has announced a new partnership with Gameloft to bring free games for Vi subscribers. Users can play four games developed by Gameloft directly within the Vi app.
The telecom operator is also planning to launch a subscription service for games where users will be able to participate in tournaments from Gameloft. Vi has named this feature ‘Vi Games’.
Vi Users Can Play Free Games in the Vi App
Vi has announced four new games under its Gameloft partnership. These are:
- Danger Dash
- Block Breaker Limited
- Ludi Bubbles
- Asphalt Retro
These games will be available under the Vi Games section in the Vi App and can be accessed by users for free. Vi says that the company has worked to offer a fresh and easy-to-use look to the user interface of its game section to deliver the best experience for its users.
Vi further added that Vi Games are equipped with anti-fraud and ani-cheat detection to ensure fair play. The telecom operator is keen on exploring the market of casual games.
All four games introduced by Vi are lightweight and can be played on any device. The overall concept is similar to Netflix Games, where users can avail of an additional source of entertainment by playing these casual games that come bundled with the original service as a whole.
Vi is the third largest telecom operator in India. However, the company has been facing fierce competition from Jio and Airtel and has constantly struggled to hold its position in the telecom market in India.
Last week, Jio launched its JioTV Premium subscription offering 14 different OTT services in a single plan. In an interesting answer to Jio, Vi launched a new prepaid recharge that comes bundled with 13 OTT apps. The plan is priced at Rs 202 and includes subscriptions to Disney+Hostar, SonyLIV, SunNXT, Shemaroo Me, Hungama, and many others.
Vi has also started deploying its 5G services. As of now, the Vi 5G network is available in Delhi and Pune. The telecom operator says that more cities will soon be added to its 5G coverage.
