The company also talked about its new software toolkit, which aims to strengthen 5G Standalone network capabilities, which will provide differentiated connectivity for premium services. New Toolkit Boosts Premium 5G Services

The company’s new software toolkit seeks to empower Communications Service Providers (CSPs) to deliver high-performance use cases that require superior throughput, reliability, and low latency. 

This can be quite important for mobile cloud gaming, video conferencing, live broadcasting, remote-controlled machinery, public safety services, and emerging extended reality (XR) technologies. 

It also includes enhancements for Massive MIMO, Advanced RAN Slicing, Time-Critical Communication, and 5G Core, forming a robust platform for superior mobile broadband services and programmable network performance on demand through network APIs.

The event also showcased different use cases demonstrating the power of 5G. These included:

  • Enhanced Sports Experiences: A feature-rich app that allows sports clubs to engage directly with fans, creating new revenue streams through network slicing and APIs.
  • Uplink for Live Streams: Real-time live streaming via smart glasses is made possible by Uplink Carrier Aggregation, which boosts upload speeds for Standalone 5G adoption.
  • Private 5G Networks: Secure and reliable solutions for critical infrastructure industries like power plants and oil refineries, enabling immersive connected worker experiences in hazardous environments.

What’s Next? 

Ericsson also showcased its plans at the ‘Shape our Future Together’ zone, where the company demonstrated its partnerships with global brands such as Toyota and Sony. The company has also stepped up its 5G, AI and 6G research in India.
