Until now, the company had the Rs 349 pack listed on the official website as the cheapest 5G prepaid plan. The new Rs 198 Jio 5G recharge pack offers the same benefits as the Rs 349 plan. Jio Rs 198 True 5G Unlimited Pack Launched in India
The Jio Rs 198 True 5G Unlimited recharge plan is available on the Jio official website. The plan offers 2GB of 4G data per day, after which the speed is restricted to 64Kbps. Jio subscribers eligible for 5G services can enjoy unlimited 5G data.

The new plan also offers unlimited voice calling and 100 SMS per day. It also offers JioTV, JioCinema, and JioCloud subscriptions. These benefits are identical to those offered by the Rs 349 Jio True 5G Unlimited recharge plan. However, the trade-off lies in the plan’s validity. The new Rs 198 Jio recharge plan offers 14-day validity, half of the Rs 349 pack.
With the new launch, Jio is lowering the entry barrier for accessing 5G services. However, if you need long-term 5G connectivity, the Rs 349 Jio plan is the more value-for-money.
Notably, this launch comes soon after Jio hiked tariff to restrict 5G accessibility only for plans offering 2GB daily data or more. Before this, any plan above Rs 239 was eligible for unlimited 5G access.
In comparison, Airtel offers unlimited 5G data with a Rs 379 pack as its most affordable plan. The Airtel recharge pack offers 2GB of data daily, unlimited calls, 100 SMS daily, Airtel Xstream, free Hello Tunes on Wynk, and a 30-day Wynk Music subscription.
